Protect Your Vision with Regular Eye Care
You may think of your eye exam as the time to update your eyeglass prescription (after all, who doesn’t love an excuse to buy new glasses?). But your eye exam actually plays an essential role in your overall healthcare.
Our staff is always here to help! If you have questions or want to book an appointment, please call us today!
Why Are Eye Exams Important?
Your eyes are connected to your body through blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissues that often show signs of health problems before other parts of your body. This puts your optometrist in the unique position to diagnose health conditions sometimes before your family physician can.
Ultimately, however, eye exams are important for detecting and diagnosing vision-threatening eye diseases that often develop without symptoms. Many patients remain unaware of eye problems until they develop symptoms, which usually means irreversible damage has already occurred.
At Total Vision, we’ve invested in industry-leading diagnostic technology that gives us the ability to early signs of eye health problems. Our team is highly trained and experienced in diagnosing:
How Often Are Eye Exams Needed?
No matter your age, regular eye exams are essential for maintaining your eye health. We prefer to see you annually so we can really get to know you and your eyes. These visits allow us to monitor your prescription and eyes for changes and establish a baseline for your ocular health.
Everyone is different, though, so our optometrists may determine that you only need an eye exam every 2 or 3 years. Overall, we’ll determine how often we need to see you based on your medical history, health concerns, and eye care needs.
